Guiding women on a compassionate journey to rediscover freedom, purpose and inner strength. it's time she got her groove back.
Mahi wairua refers to spiritual work — a deeply rooted aspect of healing and transformation within Te Ao Māori, the Māori worldview. It acknowledges that our wairua (spirit) is a vital part of our overall wellbeing, intimately connected to our tinana (body), hinengaro (mind), and whānau (family/community).
Traditionally, Māori viewed health holistically, understanding that when wairua is out of balance — due to trauma, disconnection, grief, or life’s many challenges — it can manifest in physical, emotional, or mental disharmony. Mahi wairua is the process of reconnecting to our spiritual selves, our tūpuna (ancestors), our whenua (land), and Te Ao Wairua (the spiritual realm).
Through karakia (prayer), waiata (song), whakaaro (intentional thought), whakanoa (cleansing), and other wairua-based practices, mahi wairua creates space for release, healing, and transformation. It can support people in:
Letting go of emotional and spiritual burdens.
Reclaiming their sense of identity and belonging.
Strengthening their connection to whakapapa and whenua.
Restoring balance and mauri (life force).
Mahi wairua is not one-size-fits-all — it is guided by tikanga (cultural practice), wairua guidance, and the unique needs of each person. Whether you're navigating grief, trauma, or simply seeking a deeper connection to your spiritual self, mahi wairua offers a sacred and culturally grounded path toward healing.
Te Haerenga, the journey starts with whitiwhiti kōrero – the healing power of shared dialogue.
Whitiwhiti kōrero is more than just conversation — it’s a sacred exchange. It means to share, reflect, and listen deeply with intention and heart.
In a healing space, whitiwhiti kōrero creates a foundation of trust, where stories can be spoken, pain can be released, and understanding can emerge. It’s through this honest and respectful kōrero that insights arise, patterns are seen, and wairua begins to shift.
Whether one-on-one or in a group, whitiwhiti kōrero helps to:
Release mamae (pain)
Awaken self-awareness
Strengthen connection to others and self
Reweave whakapapa, identity, and purpose
It’s a powerful taonga — rooted in tikanga Māori — that reminds us: healing doesn’t happen in silence. It happens in relationships, in truth, and in the courage to kōrero.

Ko te pae tawhiti whaaia kia tata, ko te paea tata whakamaua kia tina
Seek out the distant horizons, and cherish those you attain.
He aroha whakatoo, he aroha puta mai.
If kindness is sown, then kindness you shall receive.
"Helped myself and mokopuna with our journey to healing after the loss of my daughter, their mother. High recommend. When your lost in life and someone sits with you in the dark bringing back the light through Whitiwhiti and support systems you need, it is truley a blessing. Thank you Gabby. We wouldn't be where we are today without your support. "

As a mahi wairua practioner, I strive to offer a holistic service that nurtures balance across all aspects of wellbeing - tinana (body), hinengaro (mind), wairua (spirit) and whaanau (social and relational connections). I honour the interconnectedness of these dimensions, supporting women on their journey of healing, reconnection and empowerment.
